You will work closely with L2L engineers (over 30+ of them) but your day-to-day is with a small team of engineers focusing on the SwipeGuide platform and mobile apps. We are all spread across The Netherlands, Spain, Nigeria, Macedonia and the US.We are a remote organisation with co-working spaces and office spaces in the US, Spain and The Netherlands.The SwipeGuide Product/Engineering team meets in a co-working space in Barcelona from time to time with opportunities to also meet up in Lisbon, Madrid, and Valencia.Our values are at the core of everything we do. It is the combination of these four values that empowers our team to envision and create the future of manufacturing technology.YOUR ROLE AS THE FULLSTACK ENGINEER AT L2L/SWIPEGUIDEWe are looking for a full stack engineer with expertise in mobile development with React Native, Expo, and Android and iOS app distribution tools to own our suite of mobile applications for work instructions (SwipeGuide), skill management (Smart Skills by SwipeGuide), and L2L Dispatch products in collaboration with our cross-functional web and mobile teams.In the upcoming year, you will help lead key product initiatives in the company’s mobile strategy, including the consolidation of separate customer-facing apps into a single generic app that will serve all customers, and creating a scalable UI component library both in React and React Native.We need a flexible and well-rounded full stack engineer who can adapt to business needs and help shape the future of the apps for our frontline workers, ensuring a consistent and user-friendly experience across all mobile and responsive environments.Your responsibilities include:Develop solutions for our suite of mobile-first web and native applications using React, React Native, and Expo, ensuring software meets both business and technical requirements.NOTE: Depending on the roadmap, you may be working on either responsive/mobile web OR native appsWrite clean and maintainable frontend and backend code in JavaScript and TypeScriptParticipate and provide input during the entire product development lifecycle including design, development, deployment, and maintenance of new and existing features.Develop and maintain frontend web applications using React and React Native frameworks, styled components, design systems, and UI component libraries (ex: Figma, Storybook)Write clean and functional code on the backend, while keeping in mind important considerations for scalability such as security, performance, and maintainabilityImprove and maintain test coverage for web and native applications using a variety of testing frameworks (ex: Detox, Cypress, Jest)Troubleshoot, debug, and monitor software for performance and quality (ex: We use Grafana, Sentry, Papertrail, etc.)Keep the app up to date with the upgrading to the latest plugins, packages, and other dependenciesProvide code reviews and lead by example with best practices for clean, maintainable codeCollaborate daily with a cross-functional team of software engineers, DevOps Engineers, Data analysts, QA, product managers, and designersESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES FOR THE FULLSTACK ENGINEER AT L2L/SWIPEGUIDEExtensive experience in independently managing and updating build and deployment processes for mobile appsExpertise with React and React NativeExpertise working with ExpoExperience working with Xcode and Android Studio or similarExperience with a variety of testing frameworks for e2e testing (ex: Detox), integration, and unit testing (ex: Jest)Experience working with GraphQL or other APIsExperience with iOS and Android app distribution tools, such as Google Developer, Apple Developer, and FirebaseExperience working with agile development practices such as Kanban or ScrumExperience with collaborative engineering methods (ex: pair programming).Ability to work remotely full-time with minimal in-person contact.Self-starter who takes team ownership seriouslyFast learner with strong problem-solving skills (#AlwaysBeLearning)Humble Despite all your accomplishments, you know how to leave your ego at the door.Excellent English communication in written and verbal formsNICE TO HAVE TO BE AN L2L/SWIPEGUIDE FULLSTACK ENGINEERExperience building out UI component libraries and working with design systemsExperience with build and deployment CI/CD pipelines for mobile native apps, such as JenkinsYou are based in Spain or Portugal and can meet in a coworking space on a monthly to quarterly basis to collaborate with Senior Director of Engineering and Product DesignersWHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?Unlimited holidays (and we think it works here)Remote working opportunities with ad-hoc meet ups across the worldCompetitive monthly compensationA challenging environment to develop your personal and professional skills with a lot of freedom to take on ownershipWHAT ARE YOUR FUTURE COLLEAGUES SAYING ABOUT SWIPEGUIDE?"SwipeGuide gives each member of the team the unique opportunity to be a part of every conversation.
