You will play a key role in leading and managing complex projects and programs across various departments, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives, improve processes, and achieve organizational goals. This role will be working within the Early Phase Oncology team, so it is important that you currently have strong Early Phase Oncology experience as a Global Project Manager in a CRO or Pharma setting.ResponsibilitiesLeads the cross-functional Trial Team; tracks project deliverables and timelines using functional planning tools. Proactively manages trial deliverables and milestones, identifies risks, and ensures mitigation and contingencies are initiated and followed through (including management of CAPAs).Accountable for the delivery of global trials within the projected life of trial budget. Ensures accurate trial budget management, updates for scope changes, and reconciliation of assigned trials for both Out of Pocket (OOP) costs and FTE costs. Responsible for overall contract management, including review and approval of external service provider (ESP) contracts, change orders, and ensuring services are delivered per contract.Ensures environmental analysis, protocol feasibility, and country & site selection processes are conducted within agreed timelines. Drives final study placement and ensures alignment and communication with involved stakeholders, including TA and feasibility leads.Develops the trial ESP strategy for assigned trial(s) in line with the overall program ESP strategy.Oversees all external service providers for both in-house and outsourced studies. Responsible for vendor selection and setup, including scope of work and specifications in line with protocol requirements, budget, and timelines. Manages CROs for outsourced trials, including initiation of selection, SOW development, budget and change orders, and oversight of all deliverables. Serves as the primary point of contact for the assigned Project Director/Manager from the CRO responsible for the trial.QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Life Sciences.Minimum of 8 years of clinical trial experience in the pharmaceutical industry or CRO. Other relevant experiences and skills may be considered.Early Phase Oncology experience is a MUST.In-depth clinical research operational knowledge, strong project planning/management, communication and presentation skills. Ability to manage all aspects of execution of a clinical trial.Proven track record of success in managing or leading global or regional teams in a virtual environment.Strong expertise in vendor management.Excellent leadership skills and ability to foster team productivity and cohesiveness.Strong decision-making, analytical and financial management skills; able to operate with limited supervision.Experience with mentoring/coaching others.Therapeutic area experience and skills depending on the area of support.What ICON can offer youOur success depends on the quality of our people.
