JOB DESCRIPTION The IGTP needs to incorporate a Superior Technician for the Neurogenetics Unit to collaborate on the study "Gene therapy for Friedreich's ataxia" (CPP/00018). MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES The tasks to be carried out are those typical and general to a technician, as described in the research project "Gene therapy for Friedreich's ataxia" (CPP/00018), particularly in the characterization and evaluation of a mouse model of cardiac pathology in Friedreich's ataxia, including responsibility for managing the colony of animal models with the support of other researchers involved in the project. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCIE Hold a Master's degree in Genetics, Biology, Biomedicine, Neurosciences or similar. Motivation for animal experimentation and ability to work independently and in a team. Accreditation and demonstrable experience in the handling and characterization of animal models (mice) for neurological and/or heart diseases. Demonstrable experience in at least 3 of the following: molecular and cellular biology techniques: protein analysis, conventional microscopy, fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, cell cultures, RNAscope, immunocytochemistry. Experience with in vivo imaging systems such as echocardiography, electrocardiography, micro-CT, MRI, luminescence and fluorescence for tissues or small animal models will be valued. English language oral and written (B2 or similar). WHAT WE OFFER Indefinite contract (Science Law, 14/2011). Full time. Immediate incorporation.
