Role Handbag Designer (Freelance) At ALOHAS , we are looking for a freelance designer to lead the creation of our handbag collections, blending creativity, innovation, and craftsmanship. This is a unique opportunity to shape our product offering and bring your vision to life in alignment with our brand DNA. Your challenge Lead and oversee the entire handbag design process from concept to final sample, ensuring designs align with ALOHAS’ vision and market trends. Research and integrate new materials, textures, and sustainable innovations to create trend-forward and high-quality handbag designs. Collaborate closely with product development, merchandising, and production teams to ensure feasibility, quality standards, and adherence to project timelines. Develop detailed sketches, tech packs, and CAD drawings, clearly communicating design intentions to sample makers and manufacturers. Conduct trend analysis and competitor research to anticipate customer preferences and incorporate insights into the design process. Drive seasonal storytelling and design themes that align with ALOHAS’ brand identity and resonate with our target audience. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing creativity with efficiency to deliver high-quality handbag concepts on time. Work closely with suppliers to oversee sample tracking and production orders, ensuring smooth execution from design to final product. 5+ years of experience in handbag design, preferably within premium or high-growth fashion brands. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and 3D modeling programs (Rhino, Blender, etc.); experience with AI design tools is a plus. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex design concepts to cross-functional teams. Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and sustainable design principles. Project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A passion for fashion and a keen understanding of ALOHAS’ brand ethos and target market.
