We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who will help us deliver the different parts of our production-ready product while co-designing and implementing an architecture that can scale up with the product and the company. This role will primarily focus on software engineering tasks , ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of our AI-driven systems. You will work closely with Data and Frontend Engineers, while contributing to APIs and infrastructure that support it. Designing, developing, and maintaining resilient services with a focus on simplicity, scalability, reliability, and performance. Writing high-quality, well-tested code using Java. Implementing comprehensive automated testing to ensure the quality and reliability of our products. Proactively monitoring and optimizing the health and performance of production services. Championing best practices for code and testing. Driving improvements in our development processes using Lean and Agile principles. Remote / Hybrid 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Backend Engineer. ~ Solid understanding of software engineering principles and best practices (e.g., Experience with continuous delivery/deployment, feature toggle-driven development, and a "you build it, you run it" mindset. ~ Deep expertise in the Java ecosystem (e.g., Spring Boot/Micronaut, Gradle) or Kotlin, focusing on performance-critical backend applications. ~ Advanced knowledge of SQL language. ~ Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, etc.). ~ Proven experience in building and maintaining services in a cloud environment. ~ Experience with data modeling and schema design. ~ A strong testing mindset and a commitment to writing automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end). ~ Proven expertise in deploying, monitoring (e.g., Datadog), and scaling services on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) using tools like Docker and Kubernetes. ~ Excellent oral and written English communication skills (minimum C1 level – proficient user). ~ Solid understanding of various data storage technologies (e.g., relational databases, NoSQL, data warehouses) and their trade-offs. ~ Kafka, RabbitMQ) and caching technologies (e.g., Redis) to build resilient and decoupled systems. ~ Familiarity with other technologies such as Python, DBT, Snowflake, Tinybird/ClickHouse, MongoDB, DuckDB or PostgreSQL. ~ Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, etc. ~ Experience with TDD (Test-Driven Development) and trunk-based development. ~ Clarity AI’s Founder and CEO, Rebeca Minguela , is a successful entrepreneur who has been recognised by prestigious institutions like the World Economic Forum as one of the most distinguished leaders under 40.
