Controls Integration Engineer, Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging, Deployment & Ramp Up (MSP-Controls)MSP-Controls is looking for a Controls Integration Engineer to be part of our global team to deliver the next generation of world-class fulfillment systems through the use of advanced technology. Successful candidates are natural self-starters who have prior engineering experience in the integrated automation project life cycle, including development, design, implementation, enhancement, and support.The Controls Integration Engineer will be part of a full product life cycle and responsible for successful delivery of units for development and operations. You will serve as a liaison between Fulfillment Center Operations (our customer), product design and development engineers. This role will require the ability to build relationships across a cross‑functional team capturing and synthesizing the voice of the customer.Primary goal is to own the field activities integrating, deploying, and troubleshooting solutions for new mechatronics systems and packaging technology; act as a liaison for internal and external resources and be on call as needed to support downtime events. The position will also provide proper training and support to facility controls technicians on system troubleshooting and preventive maintenance to focus on system performance improvement and optimization. In parallel with the Deployment Teams you will support performance ramp of the technology deployment at scale.Flexible locations across the US and travel up to 75%.Key Job ResponsibilitiesWrite control specification documents for deployment of technology products.Integrate control system products and partner with suppliers and customers.Commissioning: working with all the stakeholders to optimize the workcell to predefined success criteria to ensure smooth handover of technology products.PLC troubleshooting and diagnostics.Own controls/software commissioning tasks for technology products.Design and develop commissioning tools and customer‑facing components to facilitate scalable business growth.Lead initiatives to enhance engineering, testing, and operational best practices within the team.Conduct comprehensive analysis and testing of both existing and prospective engineering solutions and components.Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop control specifications and training materials.Lead incident follow‑up, root cause analysis, and documentation.Engage in industrial engineering design for both existing and new material handling systems across our global network.Ensure strict adherence to all Health & Safety (H&S) protocols and actively contribute to the identification and mitigation of potential H&S risks.Foster effective relationships by partnering with various stakeholders.A Day in the LifeOn a day‑to‑day basis, the engineer will be commissioning and deploying workcells at both Greenfield and Brownfield sites, learning how to integrate packcells into the existing infrastructure, and utilizing PLC programming skills to carry out continuous improvement initiatives.About the TeamThis team stays close to our customers and strives to always build and design our tech with them in mind with a focus on end‑to‑end user experience. Someone who joins this team will be engaged with engineers and stakeholders dedicated to supporting Sub Same‑Day delivery and other businesses, focusing on delivery optimization and emerging business needs with a balance of scrappy vs. long‑term supported solutions.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.3+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands‑on systems engineering experience.4+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience.4+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability and scaling).Experience with Siemens or Allen Bradley (A&B) PLC control‑level issue diagnosis.Experience with industrial control systems, both hardware and software.Experience with analytical tools and ability to dive deep into metrics and reporting.Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Computer Science or a related field.Knowledge of network design, protocols and troubleshooting.Experience working with Linux operating systems.AWS certification.Experience working with Material handling equipment (MHE).Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology.Experience with integrated development environments: Codesys.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
