This position requires the architectural rigor of a CTO, the strategic clarity to lead transformational initiatives, and the commitment to unlock student achievement at scale. While most organizations layer AI onto conventional education frameworks as a cosmetic addition, 2 Hour Learning has taken a fundamentally different approach: we have reconstructed schooling from first principles, integrating AI and learning science to eliminate the limitations inherent in traditional classrooms. The results speak for themselves — our students consistently earn multiple 4s and 5s on AP exams, demonstrate multi-year growth within a single academic year, and exceed their own performance expectations. This is an executive-level technical ownership role where you will control the architecture, technical direction, and AI strategy across our complete learning ecosystem. What You Will Be Doing Building and applying deep expertise in education product design to inform strategic direction Creating technical specifications that resolve key architectural decisions while prioritizing simplicity, performance, and sustainability Deploying generative AI solutions to automate engineering workflows and eliminate manual overhead, in alignment with our strategic goal of maximizing value creation What You Won’t Be Doing Managing people as your primary function; this role demands business insight and technical judgment above all Sitting through unnecessary meetings, committees, or bureaucratic processes; we have eliminated management overhead to maximize your focus on hands‑on value creation Proposing high-level visions without actionable technical detail; your guidance must be grounded in product-level understanding Principal Product Architect Key Responsibilities Serve as the technical owner (CTO) for one or more education products, maintaining core technical capabilities and generating business impact through flawless execution and strategic leadership Basic Requirements Substantial experience or demonstrated interest in data-driven learning science 7+ years of experience driving critical architecture and design decisions on software projects, including the application of design patterns and major open source frameworks 2+ years of experience making architectural decisions involving cloud computing platforms (primarily AWS) 4+ years of experience in roles with complete technical and delivery accountability for a revenue-generating product Proven experience developing product capabilities that leverage Generative AI in sophisticated ways Demonstrated ability to apply Generative AI to streamline and optimize workflows About 2 Hour Learning Education is broken, but 2 Hour Learning is proving it doesn’t have to be.
