Join us and our 18,000 colleagues now and together we will make the world a brighter place.HSEQ Site Leader – TarragonaPosition MissionEnsure excellence in Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) at the Tarragona (TGN) site, with a strong focus on Health & Safety expertise, while also acting as the coordination point with the HSEQ Managers of the other three Spanish sites (PAR, BCN, SMM) and as the HSEQ representative of Covestro Spain at global level.Key Responsibility AreasHealth & Safety (Core Expertise)Act as the Health & Safety subject-matter expert, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and Covestro standards.Identify, assess, and mitigate occupational health and safety risks, leading accident, incident, and near-miss investigations and implementing preventive actions.Drive a strong safety culture, supporting leaders and employees in integrating safety into daily operations.Environment (Environmental Governance & Regulatory Oversight)Coordinate with the Environmental Manager, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, permits, and regulatory requirements.Quality (Quality Governance & Technical Understanding)Coordinate with the Laboratory Coordinator leadership to ensure compliance with quality standards, procedures, and internal standards.Own and continuously improve the site Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO standards and corporate requirements.Ensure full compliance with applicable regulations, customer requirements, and internal standards.Team Leadership & Site Coordination.Lead and develop the HSEQ team at the Tarragona site, fostering capability, engagement, and high performance.Coordinate with the HSE leaders of the other three Spanish sites (PAR/BCN/SMM) to align HSE policies, standards, and best practices across Spain.Global RepresentationAct as the HSEQ representative of Covestro Spain at global and regional level, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, reporting requirements, and global HSEQ initiatives.Qualification RequirementsStrong leadership and team management capabilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving and decision-making abilities, resilience and adaptability in complex environments, and a proactive mindset to foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety awareness.University degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field, or equivalent qualifications with relevant work experience (BS in Chemical Engineering, BS in Science Engineering).Master’s degree in occupational health and safety or a related discipline.
