Software Development in Test & Research Engineer — SaaS Automation & InnovationVirtuozzo is hiring a Software Development in Test and Research Engineer in Europe to help build scalable test automation for distributed SaaS platforms and to collaborate with leading universities on applied software research initiatives.This is a unique role at the intersection of quality engineering, systems-level development, and academic innovation. You’ll work closely with the R&D team to ensure the reliability of our platform and take part in building research labs that explore the future of cloud and infrastructure software.What You’ll Be DoingDesign and maintain automated tests and testing frameworks for functional, performance, security, and reliability use cases, including load, stress, and scalability testingSet up and operate production‑like, scalable test environments for complex SaaS systems, with a focus on benchmarking and performance evaluationInvestigate and debug system‑level issues, including performance bottlenecks and distributed failures, using metrics such as latency, throughput, resource utilization, and tail latencyCollaborate with university teams to launch and support research labs focused on infrastructure and cloud softwareResearch and evaluate emerging testing technologies, including AI‑driven test automation toolsWhat You BringBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (PhD is a strong plus)3–5+ years of experience in SDET, software development, or QA automation in large‑scale SaaS environmentsProficiency in Python, Go, Java, or C++ for test development and scriptingSolid experience with Linux/Unix systems, distributed architectures, and cloud‑native technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and modern test automation frameworksInterest in applied research and a passion for innovationWhat We OfferRemote and flexible working hours in EMEA (any location)Space for creativity and experimentation within the company’s goalsShare Options – everyone shares in our success with share optionsWe help our team get private medical insuranceSupportive, engineering‑driven culture with minimal bureaucracyThe chance to influence Product and R&D decisions from day oneA smart, friendly team that values reliability, simplicity, and automationDepending on your location and preferred employment method (B2B or employment), other perks and benefits applyIf you’re passionate about systems testing, infrastructure automation, and working on applied software research, we’d like to hear from you.#J-18808-Ljbffr
