Overview Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated early-stage Postdoctoral Researcher to join our research team at the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP).The successful candidate will join the Resistance, Chemotherapy and Predictive Biomarkers (RCPB) Research Group, led by Dr Eva Martinez-Balibrea from the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO) and working within the frameworks of the ProCURE (ICO) and CARE (IGTP) programmes. The group focuses on understanding mechanisms of resistance to cancer therapies (mainly in colorectal cancer) and on the identification of predictive biomarkers to improve personalised treatment strategies, as well as on the identification of novel drug targets and therapeutic strategies.The group works in close collaboration with the Medical Oncology Department of ICO-Badalona, ensuring direct interaction between laboratory research and clinical practice.Responsibilities Co-leading or leading research projects within the group’s translational research linesSupervising and mentoring PhD and master studentsActing as a scientific reference within the laboratory, contributing to experimental design, troubleshooting and data interpretationPreparing research proposals and grant applications, with the support of the group leaderContributing to the writing of manuscripts, dissemination of results and participation in scientific meetingsActively collaborating with clinicians and other researchers in a multidisciplinary translational environmentQualifications and Experience Required qualificationsPhD in a relevant life sciences discipline (e.g. cancer biology, biomedical sciences, molecular biology, immunology, or related fields)Proven experience in translational cancer researchEnglish proficiency at C1 levelInternational mobilityAt least two first-author publications in Q1 journalsKey skills and competencies Ability to work independently and lead research projectsDemonstrated capacity to write competitive research proposalsStrong teamwork and communication skillsHighly desirable experience Animal experimentation (in vivo mouse models)3D tumour culture modelsHandling and analysis of omics dataBackground in immunologyWhat We Offer Science law Indefinite contract (17/2022) linked to the project.Competitive salary, equivalent to a Sara Borrell contract, adjusted according to experience and distributed in 12 payments.A highly translational research environment with strong clinical integrationExpected starting date: second quarter of 2026Flexible
