We offer our clients additional (remote) capacity so they can continue to build their state-of the-art software solutions, web applications, mobile apps and alike. Each Óscala Software Developer works exclusively for one client and is an integral part of their Software Development team - working closely and on a daily basis together with Tech Leads, Architects and other colleagues of the IT team in The Netherlands (or Germany or Belgium). We are currently looking for a: Freelance Senior Software Engineer (PHP / Go) We're looking for a senior freelance backend engineer to join a small, highly skilled team building and operating a cloud-native platform running critical services on Kubernetes and GCP . You'll have real influence on architecture and tooling , working hands-on across backend development and cloud infrastructure. What you'll do Build and evolve backend services using PHP (Laravel) and Go Design and optimize APIs and databases (MySQL / PostgreSQL)Operate and improve a cloud-native infrastructure on Kubernetes (GCP)Improve automation, CI/CD and GitOps workflows Work on performance, security and reliability of the platform Tech stack (core) PHP (Laravel), Go Kubernetes, GCP MySQL / PostgreSQL, Redis Terraform, GitOps Linux-based systems Who you are Senior engineer comfortable moving between code and infrastructure Pragmatic, autonomous and focused on automation and quality Able to make and defend technical decisions Experienced working in distributed teams Benefits High level of technical ownership Modern cloud-native stack Low bureaucracy, direct impact Long-term freelance collaboration
