Join us as a Chief Engineer.The Data Center Chief Engineer is a subject matter expert on the mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety and ancillary systems within the data centre. They are responsible for ensuring all technical drawings and information accurately reflect the installed infrastructure and for certifying the safe and non‑service affecting operation of the site. In addition to being the technical expert the role involves training the site engineers on the engineering systems to achieve the required competency level for their role. Other responsibilities include planned preventive maintenance, vendor management and client reports.ResponsibilitiesOwn, develop and implement all technical processes and procedures to ensure safe and non-service affecting operation of the siteLead root cause investigation of system failures and produce the associated technical reportsPrinciple representative for specialist vendor engagements i.e. review and approve technical failure reports, risk assessments and method statementsDevelop and deliver a team training programme for the engineering systemsOperate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities systemsComplete planned and ad‑hoc preventive maintenance work assignments requiring the skill and direction of several engineering, mechanical, and maintenance tradesConduct periodic inspections of building engineering systems ensuring their correct operational status and operating within the design capacity, i.e., HVAC, electrical distributionRapid response, investigation, and management of indoor emergency situations and air quality complaintsHave a complete working knowledge on creating, closing and tracking "work requests" (WR). Initiate or respond to work orders, follow‑up and verify completion of workMonitor performance/note deficiencies of service contractors and recommend changes as necessaryPerform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by managementSkills & ExperienceSignificant & proven experience in the operation, installation and maintenance of data center critical equipment, building systems with in-depth technical understanding and knowledge of all HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and control systemsA Mechanical or Electrical Engineer Degree, or a proven progressive engineering career in Data Center power and cooling technologiesExpert knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Chillers, Air handling units, RCU, BMS, Fire detection and extinguish systems RoomHold current certificates for low and high voltage switching or have practical experience of switchingProven observation skills and problem‑solving abilityStrong verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English is requiredSeniority levelMid‑Senior levelEmployment typeFull‑timeJob functionInformation Technology & Services and Engineering ServicesLocation: Sant Just Desvern, Catalonia, SpainReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Salute EMEA by 2x#J-18808-Ljbffr
