NoOffer DescriptionThe Institute of Applied Computing and Community Code (IAC3, ) is seeking scientific software developers to join our team and contribute to computational activities for the HiTech-IAC3-BIO Platform.The successful candidate will play a key role in developing software packages used for modelling gravitational wave sources and data analysis from gravitational wave interferometers. The position offers the chance to directly participate in top-flight international projects such as the LIGO Scientific Collaboration, Einstein Telescope and LISA Consortium.Main responsibilities:Implement and optimise algorithms for signal modelling, parameter estimation and data processing in line with best practice in software engineeringEnsure all software is well documented to facilitate easy onboarding for new team members and collaboration with external researchersActively contribute to data analysis and scientific publications produced by the group, leveraging developed software to advance gravitational wave science and knowledge.About IAC3 and the gravitational physics group:IAC3 is an interdisciplinary research centre home to over 60 researchers from six consolidated research groups within the departments of physics, and mathematics and computer science at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). Research in the gravitational physics group at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) spans a wide range of topics, including gravitational wave data analysis, waveform modelling and numerical relativity simulations.The group has access to its own high-performance computing cluster, as well as to external resources such as the MareNostrum supercomputer and the LIGO Data Grid. Moreover, it is an active member of leading international collaborations.The group comprises PIs Alicia Sintes and Sascha Husa, and faculty members D. Keitel, X. Jiménez-Forteza, A. Ramos, P.
