Professor: Computer Science and Applied Mathematics with Artificial Intelligence

Your mission We invite visionary PhD scholars in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence, with expertise in programming, AI/VR/AR, robotics and immersive technologies to join us at SIU in shaping the future of experiential and project‑based education. The instructor will have the opportunity not only to teach but also to lead a state‑of‑the‑art immersive technology lab, fostering collaboration among students, colleagues, industry partners and researchers to redefine the engagement of computer science, applied mathematics with AI and their applications. Tasks and Responsibilities Demonstrate leadership to students in an immersive hands‑on lab equipped with: 3D printers, robotics kits, VR headsets, GPU clusters and Arduino kits. Design real‑world integrative projects with students. Expertise to shape curriculum innovation in AR/VR/AI and robotics. Cross‑disciplinary collaboration with industry, Business Analytics and other STEM programs. Promote the university’s vision, training international future‑ready graduates with cutting‑edge immersive technologies in STEM and other disciplines. Organize AR/VR/AI‑focused seminars such as hackathons, coding festivals and networking events for students to connect directly with industry, colleagues and peers. Completes projects as directed by the Associate Dean of STEM.
