Senior Director Clinical Program (SDCP), Early Oncology Join us at AstraZeneca as a Senior Director Clinical Program (SDCP) in our Oncology R&D department. This role is accountable for the clinical program strategy and operational design inputs to deliver assigned programs.AccountabilitiesLead discussions with external entities including regulatory agencies, preferred partners/suppliers and external collaborators.Oversee acquisition of clinical trial data from internal and external sources.Plan, direct, and deliver operational components of assigned clinical programs from design concept to final CSR.Collaborate with the Medical Science Director to develop innovative delivery approaches, ensuring patient engagement, recruitment, and retention.Ensure regulatory and scientific alignment with program objectives.Skills/ExperienceBachelor’s degree in a related field, preferably in medical or biological science.At least 10 years of drug development leadership experience with progressive responsibility.Extensive knowledge of the clinical and pharmaceutical drug development process.Proven track record of developing programs to meet business goals and assess risk versus value.Significant experience in program management and use of project management techniques, including resourcing and financial management.Expertise in Clinical Trial methodology and operational delivery.Validated problem‑solving and issues management skills that are solution focused.Demonstrated ability to deliver operational timelines, cost and quality objectives.Experience leading delivery through collaboration with internal and external providers, with proven oversight of external providers.Desirable Skills/ExperienceHigher degree (e.g., PhD, MSc, MPhil).Program management qualification (e.g., MBA, PRINCE2, PMP).Experience in a variety of academic/CRO/sponsor organizations across countries.Experience across the product life cycle and multiple therapeutic areas.Experience of early phase clinical delivery.At least 5 years of global drug development experience within the clinical function.Date Posted : 17-Nov-2025Closing Date : 29-Nov-2025AstraZeneca embraces diversity and equality of opportunity.
