Lead Engineer Java Checkout Location: Barcelona or Madrid (hybrid) Build a wallet for instant refunds, rewards, and promotions for Prime customers. What you will do: Work with tech stack including Java 17, BigData (Kafka, BigTable, Redis, PostgreSQL), LLMs, Datamesh, Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud, Sonarqube, Datadog. Collaborate with Product, Business, Architecture, Data Science to shape the technical strategy for the Payments domain. Translate functional specifications into high‑performance technical design and code; split work into smaller tasks. Promote technical excellence, innovation, continuous improvement. Lead a high‑performing cross‑functional agile team of 4 engineers. Help find and hire talent, onboard new joiners. Manage performance, set goals, prioritise work. Build team identity, engagement, belonging; collaborate with agile coach. Act as mentor. Code side‑by‑side with the team. What you need to succeed: Ability to take fast, data‑driven decisions.
