The selected candidate may be based in any of our offices located in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, or Norway. Reporting to the Head of Data and AI, this role will support either the COO & Commercial or Safety & HR functions, depending on assignment. The role will be responsible for gathering requirements from stakeholders, design the architecture of the solution, design the data architecture, analyse risk and mitigations, managing data pipelines, and supporting the development and deployment of AI-driven solutions. Key Responsibilities Gathering requirements from business stakeholders. Translate business needs into technical solutions. Track the progress of the implementations. Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes. Manage and optimize data architectures to support AI and machine learning workflows. Analyse and optimise the performance of the data pipelines. Analyse, propose and product valuable reporting solutions based on internal customer requirements and business needs. Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with internal standards and regulations. Tech Stack Data Platform: Azure Fabric Data management tools: Pyspark, sql. Programming language: Python. Cloud tools: Azure Devops, Azure Boards, Azure Data Factory, Blob Storage, Azure Key Vault. Reporting tool: Power BI. Others: Git, terraform. Core Capabilities Solid knowledge of data engineering and modern big data architectures (e.g., lakehouse, Data Warehouse, medallion architecture). Solid experience building pipelines for AI solutions. Great experience designing scalable big data models aligned with the business. Experience optimizing big data pipelines in real world scenarios. Strong understanding of Machine Learning concepts and experience applying them to real-world problems. Familiarity with MLOps practices (e.g., model versioning, monitoring, automation) is a plus. Proficient in problem-solving, and able to navigate complex data environments with autonomy. Collaborative and communicative, capable of working with cross-functional teams and conveying technical insights clearly. Able to manage multiple tasks and work independently in dynamic settings. Comfortable using data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to support the delivery and explanation of insights. Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. At least 12 months of hands‑on experience working on Big Data Environments. Proven experience designing data and software architectures. Working knowledge of Python and SQL, and Pyspark (also valid Spark in Scala or R). Familiarity with platforms like Databricks or Microsoft Fabric for scalable data and analytics solutions. Experience working in cloud environments, with Microsoft Azure preferred; exposure to AWS or others is a plus. Understanding of modern data storage approaches (data lakes, lakehouses, cloud‑native warehouses). Awareness of data governance, data quality, and security considerations in enterprise settings.
