Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and improve the internal control processes assuring the consistency and validation of the financial information in the area.
- Prepare and analyze the monthly area reporting and deviations of the clinical trials ensuring timely and quality closing, while continuously monitoring clinical trial costs by cost center, order numbers, and projects, understanding the main cost drivers (risks & opportunities, force-out). Improve and implement the reporting in PBI.
- Participate in the Contract Research Organizations (CRO) negotiations and review financial contractual clauses with Global Procurement and Global Clinical Development, being part of the Outsourcing Development Team (ODT).
- Create Purchase Orders in Ariba for clinical trials and follow up on monthly Good Receipts and invoices with the International Clinical Trial Managers (ICTMs) according to accounting guidelines.
- Coordinate invoice booking and supervise the contractual financial conditions of CRO contracts.
- Advise ICTMs with alerts on deviations vs budget or forecast and contractual situations, providing support with expert accounting knowledge.
- Financial management and participation in planning processes, including Budget, Forecasting, and 5-year forecast of the clinical trials budget with ICTMs and Project Managers, guaranteeing compliance with finance corporate guidelines and deadlines.
- Support the functional area with expert accounting knowledge during internal and external audit missions and execute audit recommendations.
