Job Title Staff Backend Engineer – Remote, Europe Base Pay Range $120,000 – $200,000 per year, plus equity 0.5%–1% Accountabilities Design, develop, and scale high‑traffic backend services, APIs, and runtime systems. Build developer interfaces, SDKs, and tools that enhance developer experience. Collaborate with customers to understand and solve integration challenges. Optimize backend performance, reliability, and scalability. Contribute to open‑source repositories and engage with the developer community. Shape the technical roadmap and strategic decisions across the platform. Mentor teammates and support incident response when necessary. Requirements 10+ years of backend engineering experience with high‑traffic systems. Strong expertise in developer infrastructure, APIs, databases, and performance‑critical applications. Proficient in Node.js and modern backend technology stacks. Deep understanding of developer experience (DX) and product‑focused engineering. Excellent communication skills and ability to work proactively in a remote‑first environment. Ownership‑driven mindset, able to navigate ambiguity, and contribute effectively in a startup setting.
