Please do not contact the recruiter directly.Introduction to the vacant positionMolecular Bionics Groupis looking for a Senior Researcher to develop research in the field of polymeric‑based nanomaterials in the field of biomedicine, focusing mainly on their synthesis, formulation and physicochemical properties. The successful candidate will also be required to take the lead in a high‑performance analytical facility that will be set in place for the characterization of polymer and nanoparticle as well as contribute to the management of the research group and in the submission of research publications and proposals.Main tasks and responsibilitiesBiopolymers design, synthesis and characterisationNanoparticle formulation and physicochemical characterisationLead a high‑performance analytic facility that includes: HPLC, GPC‑MALS, AF4‑MALS, SEC‑MALS, DLSWork independently and in collaboration with external collaborators, both national and internationalPlay a lead role in laboratory supervision and experimental planning, including the supervision and training of undergraduate and postgraduate studentsTeam management and performing administrative tasks for the research groupIP generation and managementRequirements for candidatesEssential – PhD with post‑doctoral experience in polymeric‑based nanomaterials for biomedicine with a focus on synthesising and formulating the materials and their physicochemical characterisationAt least six years have passed since the date of obtaining the doctorate (the date of the doctoral thesis defence)Demonstrate quality of production and scientific‑technological activity: scientific and technical contributions such as articles published in scientific journals, books or chapters of scientific and technical books, works presented at congresses, patents granted or licensed, and, in general, any other contribution that allows the assessment of the different aspects of researchOther curricular merits: obtaining awards, mentions and distinctionsDissemination and scientific dissemination activities: have postdoctoral experience at Spanish and foreign universities or R&D centres other than IBEC, stays or mobility while providing services to IBECTeaching activities in national or foreign universitiesMultidisciplinary qualifications and/or knowledge on polymer chemistry and physico‑chemistry, nanomaterials and nanomedicine (specifically knowledge on the techniques HPLC, GPC / SEC‑MALS, AF4‑MALS and DLS will be a plus)Competencies and skills: communication, teamwork and collaboration, commitment, proactivity, integrity, critical and analytical thinkingHigh level of EnglishAdvantageousExperience with both synthetic and natural polymersExperience working or leading a facilityExperience in biological assays for nanomaterial, mainly in vitro experiments and confocal microscopyWe offerNumber of available positions: 1Starting date: 12/2024Working conditions: Permanent position.
