Community Mental Health Agents (AC-SM) are being recruited for an innovative, pioneering project developed by the Transcultural Psychiatry Program (Psychiatry Unit at HUVH). This initiative focuses on AC-SMs and integrating them into Barcelona’s north sanitary area in collaboration with Barcelona’s Public Health Agency. AC-SMs will carry out mental health prevention and promotion activities targeted at the vulnerable youth residing there. Education and qualifications: Required: Valid residence and work permit. Fluency in Spanish, with preference given to candidates who are also fluent in the native languages of the young residents (e.g., Arabic, Mandinga, Wolof). Have training in Mental Health Community Agency. Desired: Knowledge of Catalan and English will be considered an asset. Complementary training in mental health and migration. Experience and knowledge: Required: Communication and dynamization skills. At least one year of experience as a Mental Health Community Agent is mandatory. Desired: Engagement and interlocutor skills with the target population and the support teams. Knowledge about the needs of the target population and about community services. Main responsibilities and duties: Participation in the Mental Health Roundtable , contributing their lived and cultural perspective to the planning and implementation of community-based actions. Organization and facilitation of weekly mental health prevention and promotion activities (self-care workshops, emotional regulation, intercultural coexistence, stigma reduction, dialogue and mutual support spaces, street-based activities, etc.). Mapping and regular updating of community and mental health resources in the district , identifying access barriers, emerging needs, and opportunities for improvement. Individualized support and guidance for individuals or families experiencing difficulties in accessing resources, facilitating linkage and referral to appropriate services. Identification of specific cases or situations of vulnerability , working in coordination with local professional teams to ensure follow-up and support a community-based approach. Strengthening links between services and the community , promoting citizen participation and shared responsibility in collective mental health care. Labour conditions: Part-time position: 25h/week. Starting date: immediate. Gross annual salary: 13.090 euros (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale) Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities What can we offer?
