You will benchmark, profile, and optimize Impala, Hive, and Spark to set industry-leading standards in analytic performance.As a Staff Performance Engineer you will:Build and run performance benchmarks at scale (1000+ nodes).Profile query engines using flame graphs, perf, and low-level debugging tools.Optimize execution engines, storage formats, and resource usage.Collaborate with developers to deliver performance-critical improvements.Publish performance best practices and competitive benchmarks.We are excited if you have (Required Experience):Strong background in systems engineering and distributed systems.C++, Java, or Scala expertise.Deep knowledge of CPU architecture, memory, networking, and I/O.Hands‑on experience with query engines (Impala, Hive, Spark).You may also have (Preferred Experience):Experience benchmarking on cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP).Publications or contributions to performance engineering.What you can expect from us:Generous PTO PolicySupport work life balance with Unplugged DaysFlexible WFH PolicyMental & Physical Wellness programsPhone and Internet Reimbursement programAccess to Continued Career DevelopmentComprehensive Benefits and Competitive PackagesPaid Volunteer TimeEmployee Resource GroupsEEO/VEVRAA#J-18808-Ljbffr
