PURPOSE OF THE JOB The role is responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and performance of terminal equipment and facilities in order to maintain smooth operational conditions. The incumbent shall ensure inspections and maintenance regime for plant equipment and installations is implemented as per the annual maintenance plan and strategy set by Engineering.Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities MaintenanceEquipment complianceCost ControlCAPEXBudgeting & Cost ControlMonitoring Regulatory ComplianceCONTROL PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Terminal equipment availability and reliabilityAccurate cost forecasting / budgeting for projectsFrequency and severity of incidents due to maintenance non-compliancePlanned Budget vs. Actual costsNumber of outstanding CAPEX projects not concluded within timeAny other items agreed to in the performance contract.MAIN DUTIES Single point of accountability (SPA) for Operations maintenance regime - develop a Maintenance Plan for all Terminals, Consignment and Mine Sites that covers inspections, calibration, testing and servicing of equipment and installations.Submits periodic maintenance and inspection reports as required and monitors record keeping with regard to maintenance regime and operations excellence requirements.Works with Terminal/Site Mangers to ensure that servicing of all equipment is carried out and that records of performance and history are maintained as per Operations Manual requirements.Supervise maintenance of terminal and storage equipment for bulk fuel tank farm, pipelines, pump stations and all associated equipment and facilities on site.Responsible for implementation, training and management of the Annual Maintenance budget and TAG maintenance system and providing information as required by ManagementPlanning all maintenance (via the TAG system) activity from equipment purchasing through to day to day activities through to feasibility studies to support process improvements, the continued operations and expansion of the terminal.Participates in Risk Assessment of Terminal/Sites to develop the Major Accident/Incident Prevention (MAIP) document.Supervise CAPEX projects effecting modifications from scoping, design stage through to procurement, commissioning and handover operations regarding any process improvements and expansion plans associated with the terminal and sitesEnsures that all requirements of SAPS, Environmental Management System for ISO 14001 and the Quality Management System for ISO 9001 are implemented in order to achieve and sustain full regulatory and company compliance and certification.Ensure maintenance cost control by monitoring and analysing budget against expenditure and advise deviation from planned maintenance budget.Perform any other duties as assigned by the Terminal Manager.KEY CHALLENGES FACED ON THE ROLE Optimizing terminal equipment availability and reliability and ensuring that maintenance costs are within budget.Ensuring that CAPEX projects are executed timelyEnsuring competence in managing specialized equipmentRELATIONSHIPS Internal Operations TeamEngineering TeamProcurementFinance TeamEHS ManagerInternal AuditorsExternal External AuditorsCustomersContractors (Engineering & Transport)Local AuthoritySuppliersEDUCATION AND TRAINING Education background Degree in Engineering with minimum 5 years experience, 2 of which should be in terminal or related operationsAt least 5 years’ experience as a technician in the fuel terminal with supervisory experience or degree in Engineering with 2 years’ experience in terminal or related operations.At least 5 years’ experience as a terminal/fuel equipment technician and supervisory experience or degree in Engineering with 2 years’ experience in terminal operations.Computer literateOil & Gas Industry an added advantageCompetencies And Experience Experience gained within fuel storage or terminal maintenance operations.Ability to supervise a team of Technicians, contractors and other support staff.Extensive knowledge of depot procedures and operations.Experience in supervising HSEQ complianceAbility to work with diverse teams and third-party negotiations.Petroleum product knowledge will be an added advantageComputer literateOther English language requiredWorking Conditions Based at the oil terminal site with potential exposure to hazardous materials and confined spaces.May require shift work, on-call availability, and emergency response participation.#J-18808-Ljbffr
