ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN ACCOUNTING

Overview Job characteristics: Type of contract – Permanent contract, full-time; Start date: From August 2026; Location – SKEMA BUSINESS SCHOOL Sophia Antipolis. SKEMA Business School and the Finance & Accounting Insights on Risk and Regulation (FAIRR) research center invite applications for an assistant professor position in accounting to begin August 2026. The successful candidate will develop academic research projects with the aim of publishing in top journals in the field. The language of work and teaching is English; knowledge of French is not required and is not a criterion for selection. SKEMA offers publication bonuses for peer-reviewed publications and support in learning French. Responsibilities Responsibilities include: Publish peer-reviewed publications in top-tier journals. Teach courses in accounting and related fields. Supervise master and/or bachelor students. Demonstrate academic citizenship, commit to the life of the institution, and contribute to projects related to the School’s strategy. Qualifications Qualifications must include: A Ph.D. in Accounting or a related field. Promising research prospects, visible through a high-quality pipeline of papers targeting top-level journals, in areas consistent with the specializations of current Faculty members. Initial teaching experience in the relevant disciplinary area. Ability to work as part of a team in a collegial environment. Strong oral and written communication skills. Commitment to service and/or outreach activities commensurate with the rank of assistant professor. Expectations Publish peer-reviewed publications in top-tier journals. About RESEARCH The successful candidate will be part of the FAIRR Research Center, which focuses on high-quality academic research in Finance and Accounting. The center comprises about 25 faculty members and PhD students. FAIRR researchers work on digital finance, entrepreneurial finance, governance, intermediaries, corporate restructuring, disclosure, financial regulation and related topics. We organize regular research seminars, host international workshops and conferences, and run a PhD program with a Finance & Accounting track. Researchers have access to databases such as WRDS (CRSP, Compustat, WorldScope, ISS, IBES…), DealScan, SDC, Datastream, etc. Publications from our members include work in top-ranked journals across finance, accounting, management, economics, and related fields.
