We design and deliver a wide range of products, software and services based on two core technologies: digital identification and data protection.With the massive surge of electronic travel documents and national eID cards, Thales Digital & Security global business unit is supporting border agencies, government authorities and airports to exploit technology convergence to gain consistent, comprehensive border, visa management and document verification worldwide, that will:* Deliver seamless travel with border control applications* Offer convenience for travelers for fast and secure border crossing* Improve border intelligence for detection and prevention, including some of the most disruptive new technologies like biometrics, machine learning, or micro services.If you’re looking for new opportunities, and ready to join a high-skilled multicultural team, **willing to travel (up to 15% of your time on certain peaks)**, we are now looking for a **System Engineer** to join our Delivery team in Madrid.As a **System Engineer** within Thales, you will:* Understand customer needs, refine them with the customer or internally, elicit customer requirements and translate them into system requirements and system architecture to fulfill the customer needs.* Analyze and understand customer requirements through advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models, prototypes, …* Define and formalize specifications and architectural design used to propose the best solution to the clients, ensuring technical integration, coherence of the system design, interfaces and performance.* Contribute to the analysis of technical facts or encountered anomalies, propose solutions.* Contribute to establishing and maintaining reference documentation like System requirements Specifications, Interface specifications and System architecture documentation.* Contribute to drafting justification and certification documentation.* Demonstrate the solution to the customer**About You**To succeed in this job, you should have:**Technical skills:*** Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering or similar.* **At least 4 years' experience in in Software and/or Hardware systems engineering.*** Quickly understand the system and how it works.* Be experienced in the design of complex architectures in line with security standards and policies.* Be experienced with SysML, UML, BPMN and modelling tools, such as Enterprise Architect.* Be experience in using requirements management tools (e.g.: JIRA, EasyRequirements/R4J).* Have good understanding and high-level knowledge of microservices architecture, reactive programming, containerized services and HW devices integration.* **Fluency in both written and spoken Spanish & English.** French is a plus.* and available to travel out of the country (maximum 15% of your time).**Soft skills:*** Have good communication skills with different stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.* Be recognized as a team player and enjoy collaborative work.* Be resourceful and have analytical and critical thinking skills.* Be open-minded and curious* Be rigorous and logical* Be able to lead technical topics* Flexible working hours.* Intensive working days on Fridays and during August.* Remote-friendly - 2/3 days a week working from home.* Restaurant allowance and social benefits (health insurance, kindergarten).* Free coffee on-siteAt Thales we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.
