We are looking for a Civil Engineer to join our team, specializing in the design of civil works associated with the construction of high-voltage electrical substations (up to 220kV or similar levels). The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all civil engineering aspects, from earthworks and foundations to structures and access, are designed and executed in compliance with company standards and contractual requirements. Main Responsibilities: Civil Design and Engineering: Perform and/or review basic and detailed engineering designs in high-voltage substations, including: Earthworks, grading, platforms, and slopes. Surface and underground drainage systems. Foundations for high-voltage equipment. Control buildings, relay rooms, warehouses, and other auxiliary buildings. Conduits for power and control cables. Internal and perimeter access roads, and pavements. Retaining walls, perimeter fencing, and physical security systems. Oil containment systems for transformers. Perform and/or review structural and geotechnical calculations necessary for the design of foundations and structures. Prepare detailed technical specifications for materials, equipment, subcontractor selection, and execution of civil works. Prepare and review construction drawings, calculation reports, measurements, and budgets. Ensure the correct integration of civil designs with the requirements of electrical equipment and electromechanical layouts. Participate in the technical evaluation of bids from civil works contractors. Supervise the on-site execution of civil works, ensuring compliance with designs, technical specifications, deadlines, and quality and safety standards. Manage the technical interface with civil contractors, quality control laboratories, and other stakeholders. Resolve technical problems and non-conformities that arise during the construction phase. Review and approve material testing and quality control protocols (concrete, steel, soil compaction, etc.). Collaborate in carrying out feasibility studies, geotechnical, topographical, and hydrological studies. Participate in the preparation of technical documentation necessary for obtaining construction licenses and permits. Qualifications and Experience: Education: University Degree in Civil Engineering. A Master's degree or specialization in Structural Engineering, Geotechnics, or Construction Project Management will be positively valued. Experience: Minimum of 7 years of demonstrable experience in the design and/or supervision of civil works, preferably in industrial, energy, or infrastructure projects. Specific experience in high-voltage electrical substation projects will be highly valued. Experience in interpreting geotechnical and topographical studies. Experience in managing construction contracts and supervising contractors. Technical Knowledge: Solid knowledge in structural design and foundation design. Knowledge of soil mechanics, hydrology, and drainage systems. Familiarity with construction materials and their testing. Proficiency in CAD design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and structural calculation software (e.g., CYPE, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro). Knowledge of applicable construction and safety regulations. Ensure that all civil designs and works comply with applicable technical regulations (CTE, Eurocodes, local seismic codes, etc.) and industry best practices. Skills: Excellent analytical and technical problem-solving skills in the civil field. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team (especially with electrical and mechanical engineers). Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports. Task and project management and organizational skills. Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety. Languages: B2/C1 English proficiency. English will be the usual working language. Availability to travel abroad based on project demands.
