The Opportunity

We are looking for an Airport Coordinator in Madrid Airport to reinforce our Travel Retail Europe Field team.

As an Airport Coordinator, your goal is to implement airport strategy, lead all operational topics and ensure VMS growth working together with the Spain Field Supervisors.

You are a highly motivated and result-oriented team player with strong organizational and management skills. You also have proven relationship-builder skills with internal & external contacts, having the ability to relate to co-workers & Brand Ambassadors. Ability to adapt quickly and proactively in a highly volatile environment.

What you'll get to do
  • Act as a key partner to Field Supervisor to drive the business at your airport:
    • Represent PUIG values and act according to PUIG's ethical code.
    • Provide feedback about performance, competition activities monthly, to identify risks & opportunities and give recommendations accordingly.
    • Build strong business relationships at the airport as well as recruitment agencies.
    • Key contact for Brand Ambassador to the local partners to ensure alignment with the global strategy and MKT plan.
    • Become an expert at your airport in developing your local network and feed the field supervisor with efficient business intelligence/reporting.
  • Training & Coaching
    • Master brand and product training, selling ceremony and sales techniques to train and coach the rest of the team. Ensure that the team provides excellent customer experience.
    • Monitor BE participation with the team and follow up on their progression.
    • Join the team to sell and lead by example on the key sales techniques when business needs it.
    • Reinforce sales team in field when necessary to ensure targets are reached.
  • Build high performing teams:
    • Attract, onboard and develop the staff, either through Puig HR or an agency/retailer.
    • Communicate clear targets to the team and regularly monitor progress at the shop level.
    • Identify and propose corrective actions if PUIG’s performance falls below expectations.
    • Manage rosters/shifts to optimize and maximize sell through investment when allowed.
    • Report to FS a summary on all matters related to employee life cycle for Puig employees, and agency for non-Puig employees such as sick leaves.
    • Ensure motivated teams: identify training opportunities, incentive ideas and make proposals to FS for implementation.
    • Act as an inspirational leader to empower the teams to achieve the targets and ensure pride of belonging.
    • Together with the Field Supervisor, assess the performance of the staff at quantitative and qualitative levels and participate in the appraisals.
  • Ensure Retail Excellence & Daily operations:
    • Assortment tracking.
    • Ensure the right stock level and solve locally potential out of stocks, delisting issues.
    • Visual merchandising implementation.
    • Prices reports.
    • Pictures.
    • Incidences and opportunities.
We'd love to meet you if you have
  • Experience:
    • At least 5 years+ experience in a similar role ideally in the Travel Retail industry as a BA.
    • Experience/Interest in luxury and/or fragrance industry will be highly valued.
  • Languages: Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English, as well as the local language of your scope.
  • Competencies:
    • Ability to motivate, inspire and influence others.
    • High organization skills and time management to handle multi-tasks.
    • Team player with the ability to interact with cross-departments.
    • Strong communication and management skills.
    • Result-oriented and analytical skills, able to identify opportunities and suggest improvements and clear action plans.
    • Eye for detail.
