Software Engineer (COBOL/CICS/DB2) Details of the role and how it fits into the team The candidate will design and develop application code, implement technical solutions, and configure applications in response to business needs. To meet the requirements of the business, the candidate will actively participate in the technical design and architecture of the application or its components, propose appropriate solutions to use, and promote re-usability of existing components while working in a collaborative environment. The candidate should have deep knowledge of systems and applications under their control, manage changes, and collaborate in the technical analysis, implementation, and testing of approved projects. The candidate will also participate in application maintenance tasks. The candidate will work on applications based on mainframe technology (Cobol/Cics/DB2). Your key responsibilities Technical design, programming, and testingNew projects, enhancements, and maintenance for a specific set of applicationsEnsure IT Application Life Cycle standards are met in ongoing enhancements and maintenanceAlign application changes with the application strategy and technology roadmapIdentify and manage risks and issues associated with the applicationEnsure maximum operational availability and stabilityAchieve cost efficiency Your skills and experiences Advanced proficiency in English and SpanishKnowledge and experience in systems and end-to-end processesMust have experience in Cobol/Cics/DB2 analysis and programmingExperience in application solutions from a technological perspective, with the ability to understand key aspects of technical platforms and infrastructure, generate ideas, and create effective solutionsSolid knowledge of software engineering, design patterns, and software architectureDevelopment background and demonstrated experience as an analystExperience in analyzing existing systems from high-level architecture to application code reviewExperience with technical documentation, architectural diagrams, components, flows, and use casesDemonstrable DevOps-oriented mindsetExperience with testing/QA toolsSolid technical knowledge with the ability to understand complex business processes and workflowsTeamwork capacity with multidisciplinary teamsStrong leadership and communication skillsHigh commitment to resultsAbility to identify risks, resolve conflicts, and plan tasksDemonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesKnowledge of methodologies in applications development (e.g., Agile) What we will offer you The candidate will be part of the company's transformation program, encompassing both organizational/methodology aspects and technical evolution of the systemsKey opportunity to internalize knowledgeOpportunity for continued growthInvolvement in international projects working with teams distributed all over the world We strive for a culture in which we are empowered to excel together every day.
