Contract length: 4 months (paternity leave backfill)Location: 100% remote (within the EU, must be comfortable to work EEST working hours)About the Role We are partnering with a global leader in lottery and regulated gaming technology, supporting operators across multiple international markets. The organisation builds large-scale, highly secure, and mission-critical digital platforms that enable responsible gaming, innovation, and long-term sustainability.As a Senior Platform Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, building, and operating high-performance platforms that power customer-facing products worldwide. You’ll focus on automation, reliability, and developer enablement, creating self-service tooling and “golden paths” that increase engineering velocity while maintaining strong governance and security.This is a hands‑on role with real impact, working across cloud and on‑prem infrastructure in a highly regulated environment.Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of complex platform initiatives across the full system lifecycle, from design and architecture through to implementation, testing, and deploymentBuild and maintain self‑service tooling to streamline deployment, monitoring, and management of cloud and on‑prem infrastructureCollaborate closely with software engineering and operations teams to ensure seamless integration between applications and platform servicesDrive adoption of DevOps best practices, including CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure standardisationMonitor, troubleshoot, and optimise platform performance, reliability, and scalabilityEnsure platform security and compliance through robust access controls, configuration management, and operational safeguardsProvide technical mentorship and guidance to less experienced engineersDocument platform architecture, configurations, and operational procedures, contributing to a strong internal knowledge baseParticipate in the team’s on‑call rota to support platform stability and availabilityRequirements Experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or similar rolesStrong proficiency in at least one programming language, ideally Golang or PythonDeep hands‑on experience with Linux systems administration, performance tuning, and securitySolid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, firewalls, and load balancingStrong experience with Kubernetes, including deploying, scaling, and operating containerised workloadsExperience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and/or AnsibleHands‑on experience provisioning and managing AWS cloud infrastructure and on‑prem (VMware) environmentsStrong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills, with experience debugging complex infrastructure issuesExcellent communication skills and a collaborative mindsetUniversity degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent professional experienceFull professional proficiency in EnglishNice to Have Hands‑on experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g. GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, TravisCI)Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or KanbanExperience working in regulated, high‑availability environments (gaming, finance, payments, etc.)#J-18808-Ljbffr
