Frontend - Staff Software Engineer

The Team: Join the Orchestration Engine team at Celonis in our Madrid office. This high-impact team operates like a startup within the company, building a full SaaS solution that enables global enterprises to automate workflows using low-code/no-code tooling. You will report to the Engineering Manager for Orchestration Engine.The Role: We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer – Angular to help us shape the next generation of the Celonis Orchestration Engine. In this role, you’ll design and build scalable UI components that empower users to automate complex business processes visually. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering to deliver features that make automation intuitive and powerful. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with the autonomy to make architectural decisions, mentor others, and have a direct impact on the product’s evolution. The work you’ll do: Design, implement, and maintain Angular components for a large-scale SaaS workflow platform Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features based on customer needs Drive frontend architectural decisions that improve performance, UX, and maintainability Connect the Angular frontend with backend services written in Go via REST, GraphQL, or gRPC Implement UI logic for process modeling using standards like BPMN Contribute to DevOps automation pipelines and CI/CD best practices Support customer-facing teams with technical feasibility discussions and rapid prototyping Mentor other engineers and contribute to team-wide best practices The qualifications you need: 7+ years of software engineering experience on Frontend Technologies (preferably in similar Staff SWE roles) 2+ years experience Angular and/or React (nice to have) Deep understanding of software design principles: MVC, DDD, SOLID, Strategy, DI, Decorator Experience working on microservices-based architectures and distributed systems Familiarity with low-code/no-code platforms or workflow automation tools Knowledge of API protocols (REST, gRPC) and auth standards (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS) Exposure to BPMN or process modeling (nice to have) Comfortable working in a DevOps environment with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD (nice to have) Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a distributed setup What Celonis Can Offer You: Pioneer Innovation: Work with the leading, award-winning process mining technology, shaping the future of business.
