Overview B12's engineering team views software as a craft, with the goal of improving the world as the reason to practice it. Our engineers prioritize, conceptualize, co-design, build, test, and engage users for the concepts we are building. We encourage full-stack experience while respecting individual preferences in the stack. This role is for a full-stack engineer who brings strong backend skills and an interest in applying them to the product. We mentor and teach where we can, both inside and outside the company. Work Type Remote Technology and approach We live on Python/Django and TypeScript/React. We store blobs in Amazon S3, run on EC2, develop in Docker, and deploy containers to Elastic Beanstalk. PostgreSQL is the first system we consider for persisting structured data. We centralize data in Redshift and query with SQL. We leverage AI in our product and tooling, selecting models or agents task-by-task as appropriate. We maintain near-full test coverage on the backend and are progressing on frontend and integration tests. We set up continuous integration and deployment to avoid fixed release schedules. We aim for fast iteration with support for point-in-time recovery. You would be a good fit if You have at least 4 years of experience building products and systems in production. You are an amazing communicator. You can manage your time and prioritize among competing tasks. You are passionate about the future of work. You enjoy learning and teaching. You have some mobile experience. You are comfortable with both backend and frontend technologies, with a deeper background and interest in the backend.
