Repairs Technician

Repairs Technician - contrato temporal 6 meses GE Vernova Gearboxes Repair Technician will be responsible for mechanical disassembly, inspection and assembly of wind gearboxes. The technician will report to the Shop Operations Leader. Responsibilities Exchange bearings and gears as per engineering drawings and remanufacturing specifications. Perform standard mechanical assembly procedures, rework, and repair of gearbox components and systems to drawing specifications, both in the repair shop and uptower. Repair and assemble WTG 750 kW, 1.5/1.6 MW and 2.x MW turbines. Maintain proper handling of GE tools and equipment. Work in tight areas, on ladders and scissor lifts, and in spaces greater than 4 m above the ground. Perform repair operations uptower when required. Use all tools associated with assembling units according to required specifications: lifting equipment, wall and overhead cranes, hydraulic and electric torque tools, hydraulic pullers, impact drills, magnetic drills, drill press, angle grinders, sanders, basic hand tools, measurement tools, calipers, oil flushing equipment. Read and understand mechanical layout and engineering drawings. Follow all EH&S guidelines and policies. Follow good environmental practices and waste‑management procedures, segregating waste in the pertinent containers at the repair hall. Qualifications / Requirements Mechanical or Electrical school diploma. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a wind gearbox repair shop. Certification in the use of lifting equipment such as overhead and wall cranes, and knowledge of lifting methods and practices using appropriate slings, chains, hooks, etc. Training in bearing assembly practices, including clearance and preload calculation. Training in the use of sealing and adhesives for bearing assembly. Training in hoses manufacturing and testing. Training on tightening practices and tools. Desired Characteristics Ability to read, understand and follow mechanical and electrical engineering drawings. Self‑motivated to work with minimal guidance and willingness to learn from others. Willingness to work at heights and in confined spaces, including repairing gearboxes uptower in the nacelle enclosure if required. Willingness to work various shifts and overtime on short notice to meet business needs. Ability to follow instructions and work outside under adverse weather conditions.
