Mobile Software Engineer – Wearables & On-Device Machine Learning (Contract)We are supporting a global R&D organization on a short-term proof‑of‑concept project exploring the feasibility of running machine‑learning models directly on consumer wearable devices.This role is ideal for a hands‑on Mobile Software Engineer with strong experience in smartwatches, sensor data pipelines, and on‑device ML frameworks, who enjoys early‑stage technical feasibility work.Project OverviewProof‑of‑concept focused on porting an existing ML model from cloud to deviceExecution on consumer smartwatches (Apple Watch, Galaxy Watch, Pixel Watch)Key focus on performance, feasibility, and battery‑life impactUse of native Apple and Google wearable frameworksNo pharma, clinical, or regulatory experience requiredKey ResponsibilitiesImplement and optimise sensor data pipelines (ACC, Gyro, PPG)Port and execute ML models on‑device using TensorFlow Lite and/or Core MLDevelop and test applications on watchOS and/or WearOSEvaluate battery consumption, latency, and performance trade‑offsAssess feasibility against Apple and Google on‑device ML guidelinesClearly document findings and provide technical recommendationsRequired ExperienceStrong experience as a Mobile / Wearable Software EngineerHands‑on development for smartwatches (Apple Watch, WearOS devices)Experience with sensor data processing (accelerometer, gyroscope, PPG)Practical use of TensorFlow / TensorFlow Lite and/or Core MLSolid understanding of on‑device ML constraints (compute, memory, battery)Proficiency in Python for ML model development or adaptationNice to HaveExperience comparing cloud vs on‑device ML executionFamiliarity with Android Studio, Xcode, and wearable profiling toolsBackground in performance or power‑consumption optimisationIf you are interested in working on cutting‑edge wearable and AI feasibility projects, we’d be happy to discuss further.Seniority LevelMid‑Senior levelEmployment TypeContractJob FunctionIT Services and IT Consulting#J-18808-Ljbffr
