These ultra-small, feature-rich touch & proximity controllers are optimized for a wide range of applications such as smartphones, tablets, wearables, industrial and automotive.Job SummarySemtech is seeking a talented semiconductor Applications Manager with direct experience with automotive sensing applications to define our portfolio of capacitive sensor products for the automotive industry.ResponsibilitiesLead applications team and manage priorities to align with company goals. (10%) Define next generation products (specs, features, etc.) based on future customer needs, innovative ideas, competitive analysis, regulatory trends, marketing and R&D inputs, cost constraints, etc. (30%) Generate and update marketing definition and datasheet. (10%) Work closely with R&D throughout the design phase and until production release to address any definition-related topic. (20%) Prepare technical training and promotional material to ensure new product success. (10%) Hold technical training to sales, reps, distributors, and/or partners worldwide. (10%) Visit key customers to understand their challenges/needs and promote new products. (10%) Minimum Qualifications5+ years in semiconductor Applications Management Deep experience with defining sensing technologies and products for automotive applications Capacitive, touch, magnetic/hall sensing experience Good analog and mixed signal circuitry knowledge Self-driven, strong troubleshooting skills as well as adhering to project deadlines and business objectives Able to work in and foster a teamwork environment with a demonstrated ability to share technical knowledge with others Must be an effective communicator with the ability to interface at all levels within the organization, possessing a thorough command of the English language, written as well as verbal Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree required Desired QualificationsMaster’s in Electrical Engineering Bilingual abilities are highly desirable (French/German/Italian/Chinese/Korean/Japanese) The intent of this job description is to describe the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job.
