JOB DESCRIPTION The Biostatistics Unit at the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) provides a full range of statistical services to IGTP campus researchers and external public and private organisations. We support researchers throughout the entire research process, from study design and planning to data analysis and interpretation of results. Our mission is to improve the quality and rigour of biomedical research by providing expert biostatistical guidance. Our team consists of five highly qualified statisticians and mathematicians with extensive experience in health research. We are seeking a senior biostatistician to provide statistical and methodological expertise within our unit. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of making valuable contributions independently, from developing protocols and designing analysis plans to conducting complex statistical analyses and interpreting results for publication. They will be responsible for guiding statistical strategy, mentoring junior staff and ensuring the highest standards of analytical integrity across our projects. We are looking for a proactive collaborator who can drive methodological innovation, communicate effectively with research teams and play a key role in shaping our scientific direction. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES The selected candidate will be responsible for providing statistical leadership across unit projects. Key responsibilities include: Provide statistical leadership from study design through analysis, including developing statistical analysis plans, determining methodological strategy, and serving as the lead biostatistician on assigned projects. Perform advanced statistical analyses, interpret results, and author/review the statistical content for study reports, manuscripts, and regulatory submissions. Ensure analytical quality and mentor junior team members through oversight of statistical programming and methodology. Collaborate closely with clinical, regulatory, and data management teams to align statistical strategy with overall project goals. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCIE A Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field. More than 5 years of experience applying statistical methods in a research setting, preferably within the life sciences or healthcare Advanced proficiency with statistical programming in R for data analysis, modelling, and visualization. Proficiency in English. Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to team work. A Master's degree in Biostatistics or Data Science will be considered an asset. Experience with other statistical software (e.g., SAS, Stata) and knowledge of regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH-GCP) is a valued asset. WHAT WE OFFER Indefinite position February 2025. Flexible
