PhD Fellowship: Theory-Guided Development of Stable and Efficient SOEC Air Electrodes The CSC–UAM Program supports Chinese students to undertake doctoral studies at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) under a bilateral agreement between the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and UAM. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate for a fully funded 4-year PhD fellowship entitled: “Theory-Guided Development of Stable and Efficient SOEC Air Electrodes” . Funding and Conditions Full 4-year PhD scholarship funded by the China Scholarship Council. Monthly living allowance provided by CSC. Medical insurance during the stay in Spain. Enrollment as a full-time PhD student at UAM with supervision by a host research group. Project overview: This project is part of the research initiative “Innovation in Sustainable Solid Oxide Electrolyzers for Green Hydrogen Generation”. The aim is to design cobalt-free air electrodes for solid oxide electrolysis cells (SOECs) using an advanced computational framework, combining Density Functional Theory, Reactive Molecular Dynamics, and Kinetic Monte Carlo simulations to investigate phase stability, oxygen non-stoichiometry, and atomic-scale degradation mechanisms.
