Key Responsibilities Support the Payroll Operations Manager in providing a high‑quality payroll service. Assist with managing the day‑to‑day payroll process with limited manager supervision to ensure timely and accurate payments. Proactively keep up to date with payroll legislation and compliance by interpreting new legislation effectively and explaining it to junior team members where applicable. Effectively communicate with authorities and third‑party payroll providers to ensure that payments, reports and returns are delivered accurately and on time. Ensure payroll is administered and authorized in line with process control policies to maintain compliance. Develop and maintain relationships with Finance, wider HR and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of service between departments and to achieve best practice. Act as the initial point of contact (and escalation point from junior team members) for employees in relation to payroll and benefits queries, providing satisfactory and timely resolution. Proactively recommend improvements by continually assessing the effectiveness of the payroll framework and setting up new processes in a constantly evolving environment. Support the management of invoices to ensure appropriate sign‑off, tracking and on‑time payments. Administer a range of employee benefits, ensuring accurate payroll deductions and regular, prompt reporting to third‑party providers (e.g., pensions, medical, various insurances). Calculate statutory payroll payments, statutory documents and other manual calculations as required. Assist with the training of new and existing employees with some supervision. Skills and Experience At least 5 years of experience in a payroll‑focused environment. Strong interest in and deep knowledge of Spanish payroll, with an eagerness to expand expertise to support payroll processes across multiple countries. Motivated by working in an international setting and contributing to payroll operations beyond Spain. Enjoy collaborating within a global, often remote team and value shared success. High level of accuracy, attention to detail and quality. Natural curiosity, proactiveness and enthusiasm for continuous learning. Positive response to change with the ability to adapt quickly. Clear communication skills, addressing issues with maturity and fostering constructive dialogue. Ability to organise and prioritise workload independently. Solid Excel skills; knowledge of Word and PowerPoint is an advantage. Experience with Workday is a plus. Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written, and can participate confidently in English‑speaking meetings.
