Job Title:

Junior Software Test Benches Engineer

We are seeking a talented Junior Software Test Benches Engineer to join our team at Thales in Spain.

Mission:

The successful candidate will work in an innovative environment, participating in international R&D projects within a multidisciplinary team responsible for software development for electrical testing and verification of spacecraft instruments, equipment, and sub-systems built by TAS-E.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Technical responsibility for test means: coding and validating test software scripts, libraries, drivers, and processing tools for electrical, functional, and performance verification of UUT.
  2. Test bench integration and validation, collaborating closely with the HW test benches team.
  3. Test validation and follow-up with UUT in cleanroom or lab environments.
  4. Applying quality standards and internal processes collaboratively.
  5. Deriving and following functional and technical specifications and standards.
  6. Preparing project documentation and reviews in English.
  7. Adhering to schedule and quality requirements.
  8. Travel may be required (0-5 times a year), mainly within the EU.
Education & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, telecommunication engineering, aerospace engineering, or similar technical discipline is required.

Skills & Experience:
  • At least 3 years of experience in C++ software development, object-oriented programming, mainly for Windows, focusing on maintainable code.
  • Experience with testing and test equipment for measurement and control, including protocols like GPIB, VISA, USB, I2C, SpaceWire, CAN, MIL-STD-1553B, RS422, HSSL.
  • Additional skills that are a plus: system engineering, front-end electronics, video chain electronics testing, Simulink, VHDL, Labview FPGA, Python, multi-threading, IVVQ, data acquisition, actuators control, sensors, loads, heaters, thermistors, telemetries, telecommands.
  • Ability to understand software project needs, validate software, support technical reviews, and present results to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Languages: Professional English required; Spanish and French are a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
