Lean Leader – Europe SSA

Job Description Summary Europe SSA Lean Leader will report to the Grid Automation Europe SSA PMO Leader with dotted reporting line to the Global Grid Automation Lean Leader based in Europe at one of GA sites.Job Description Job Description Summary As a member of Grid Automation Lean Community, you will be an active contributor to the lean maturity of Europe SSA region. You will execute the lean roadmaps by using your experience in making transformational changes while deploying lean principles and developing leadership behaviors. The deliverables include meaningful contribution to Monthly Operating Reviews, Problem Solving, impactful Kaizen Events, and development of Lean Practitioners as well as support of sites dealing with panels activity in Bilbao & Belgium including integration, testing and FAT as part of the region operations. This role will require you to work across all levels of region organization, including coaching team members on lean concepts. The role will require travel (max 30% of time). Essential Responsibilities Support the Cultural change applying Lean tools and leading key initiatives: for sustainable Lean Culture and Continuous Improvement. Support Region Operations team in Hoshin Kanri, Bowler, PSR and Action plan to successfully deliver Region Strategy. Coordinate all actions focused on strategic lean transformation projects & initiatives, such as Target Condition or Lighthouse Model. Drive execution of lean initiatives & continuous improvement through leadership of kaizen events. Lead and influence manufacturing areas through significant cultural and physical lean transformation by coaching lean methodology and principles. Provide leadership for continuous improvement, being an innovator of positive change that impacts safety, quality, lead time, inventory turns, on-time delivery and costs. Holds self and team accountable to a strict set of high level lean standards with a continuous focus on being better than today. Bring ability to breakdown and analyze complex problems, drive for root cause and implement countermeasures to eliminate root cause failure modes. Develop, configure, and optimize process improvements by applying Lean techniques and tools in both – transactional and manufacturing environment. Act as a mentor and coach for the Leadership and their teams to assure proper deployment of work standards and lean tools. Implement tools and metrics to improve visibility to operational health and lean performance. Coach and develop team members at all levels of the organization to build lean skills and become practitioners, with a focus not only on tools (VSM, kaizens, Problem Solving, Std Work, DM, 5S) but most importantly on behaviors and desired outcomes. Deliver training where necessary to evolve and sustain the lean culture across the region. Work together with the global Grid Automation lean network by sharing and/or implementing best practices, supporting development & networking. Positive, can-do attitude. Responsibilities related to manufacturing scope · Implement best practices and drive innovative solutions to improve production output with quality as the backbone. Deliver on priorities in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost (SQDC). · Initiate and drive waste hunting and simplification opportunities across various functions. · Lead and conduct Kaizen events with genba participation. Lead/support cross-functional projects to drive process improvements. Establish lean engagement initiatives and tools to educate and influence lean thinking through-out the site. · Act as a mentor and coach for the staff members and adjacent functions to assure proper deployment of work standards and lean tools. · Drive 5S culture on all GA sites in coordination with cluster leaders. Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar discipline from an accredited university Master of Business Administration will be an asset Minimum 5 years in Lean Roles (manufacturing & transactional scope) Lean six-sigma Green belt certified (Black belt preferred) Excellent organizational skills Self-motivated with a winning, "can do" attitude Ability to influence others and lead small teams Desired Characteristics Team player who can utilize leadership by influence. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to interact with term members from different cultural backgrounds Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
