Click here .We are seeking a Director, AI Lab to join us at Rovio to drive the transformation of our business. This newly created role will drive our adoption of Gen-AI across our games business. At Rovio, we are excited by the possibilities to create new gaming experiences and richer content for our players (art, levels, marketing, etc.), while radically changing the way we craft games.You will lead the work of our AI Lab, focusing on leveraging Gen-AI to incubate, validate and then scale your work across our business. We expect you to leverage your experiences of gaming and your passion for AI to identify high-impact opportunities with our game leads and their teams, and seek to fully unlock the potential of AI. You and your team will frequently embed within our game teams to bring projects to life.You’ll help us deliver even more joy to our playersThis is a hybrid role based in our Espoo, Stockholm or Barcelona office, and we require regular onsite presence. If you are not currently located in Finland, Sweden or Spain, we provide relocation support.You will have impact and fun at work by doing: Instigating and driving a prioritized roadmap of AI projects across new games, live games, and game service from exploration through to productization.Working with our leadership to refine and execute Rovio’s long-term AI strategy, identifying key opportunities, investments, and gaps across the business.Leading and championing AI initiatives in collaboration with domain experts and “AI Champions” across Games, Transmedia, Marketing, Tech and more.Managing and mentoring a small, specialized AI team with direct reports and dotted-line contributors.Exploring and applying emerging AI technologies and methodologies across the business.Fostering collaboration with SEGA of Europe and SEGA of Japan to leverage their Gen-AI work for Rovio.Transitioning into this newly created role by setting the foundation for this dedicated AI team.Experience and skills we are looking for: A visionary that will challenge the status quo with a deep understanding of the potential of AI in the mobile gaming industry.Proven experience in leading teams to craft amazing games.Strong background in AI concepts, technologies, and applications, with the ability to translate this knowledge in gaming context.Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects and influencing senior stakeholders.Experience managing and building teams, including direct reports.Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and align senior management.Proactive, autonomous, and highly motivated mindset, with enthusiasm and passion for AI.Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively across functions and levels of the organisation.Adaptability and resilience in times of organisational transition.Nice to have Experience in change management and establishing new company functions.We welcome applicants to use the name they want to be addressed by in the application form, regardless of whether it is their legal name.At Rovio, we are also committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities or conditions in our working environment and job application procedures.
