Secondary Teacher

Position Overview Raoul Wallenberg International School (RWIS) is looking for a Secondary Teacher specialising in Science and/or Maths to join our growing school in Palma, Mallorca, Spain. The role is part‑time (with the possibility of full‑time if combined with other subjects or responsibilities) and starts 24 August. Competitive salary commensurate with experience, professional development, group health insurance, free lunch, tuition for children and a relocation allowance for international hires are included.Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry‑based lessons in Science, Maths and/or other subject areas using the RWIS teaching approach.Incorporate project‑based learning, service and experiential learning, education for sustainable development and real‑world applications to inspire curiosity and critical thinking.Collaborate with colleagues to integrate concepts across the curriculum and maintain consistency in curriculum planning and assessment practices.Use formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress, provide timely feedback and manage student data to track growth.Support character development through the school’s guiding principles and the Class Connect Programme, modelling core values such as honesty, compassion, courage and drive.Prioritise emotional and social wellbeing of students, working with the Student Life Coordinator and School Counsellor to address individual needs.Build meaningful relationships with students, families and the wider school community, ensuring open communication and strong partnerships.Participate in the school’s professional development programme and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.Lead clubs, activities or workshops that align with your interests and talents within the After‑School Activities Programme.Qualifications & Experience Degree in Secondary Education with specialisms in Mathematics, Science or a related field; preference for a master’s degree or PhD.At least 2–3 years of teaching experience in secondary education, ideally within an inquiry‑based international or British school setting.Experience with international programmes such as the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), Cambridge International Curriculum and the IB Diploma Programme (DP).Strong record of teaching, learning and assessment in lower secondary education.Proficiency in English (fluency in Spanish, Swedish, German or another language is an asset).Commitment to values‑based education and adoption of teaching technologies such as AI‑powered tools, adaptive learning platforms and Google Workspace for Education.Flexibility to teach across multiple subject areas, a collaborative approach, and the ability to serve as a role model for students and colleagues.Benefits & Relocation Competitive salary, professional development opportunities, group health insurance, free lunch, tuition for children, and a relocation allowance for international hires.
