The Role As a Junior Database Administrator, you will assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of databases, ensuring proper functionality and availability. You will also participate in monitoring tasks, basic troubleshooting, and provide support to developers and users. This job role requires participation in 24x7 on-call rotations.Work location: BarcelonaHybrid work model: 2 days in the office and 3 days remote. Responsibilities Assist in creating and configuring new databases following security policies. Help maintain production environments to ensure availability and performance. Support troubleshooting of technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement. Work alongside developers to implement configurations based on requirements. Keep documentation updated for installations and changes. Learn and contribute to automation and optimization tasks. Maintain clear communication and a positive attitude. Who You Are Technical and Professional Requirements Desired experience: 1–2 years in database administration or related internships. Basic knowledge of: Oracle DatabaseMicrosoft SQL ServerPostgreSQL Preferred: Familiarity with MongoDB and ElasticSearchBasic scripting skills (bash, PowerShell)Understanding of backup systems Interest in learning about: High Availability and Disaster RecoveryMonitoring tools (Zabbix, Nagios)Cybersecurity principles Languages Required Spanish Intermediate English Catalan Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar.
