Postdoctoral Researcher – Alzheimer’s Disease‑Modifying Nanomedicines (PPCC‑ADNano)Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC)OverviewIBEC, in collaboration with the Autonomous University of Barcelona – Institute of Neuroscience, the San Pau Hospital Memory Unit, and the Achucarro Basque Centre for Neuroscience, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to develop Alzheimer’s disease‑modifying nanomedicines.ResponsibilitiesSynthesize block copolymer amphiphilic co‑polyesters containing anti‑inflammatory metabolites for nanomedicine formulation.Develop bottom‑up self‑assembly processes to create spherical or cylindrical micelles with precise surface composition.Conjugate LRP ligands to micelles and characterize the resulting constructs.Evaluate blood–brain barrier (BBB) crossing and anti‑inflammatory activity in vitro.Work under the direction of Prof. Giuseppe Battaglia at IBEC’s Molecular Bionics Group (Parc Científic de Barcelona).QualificationsPhD in Polymer Chemistry, Nanomedicine, Bioengineering, Materials Science, or a related field.Experience in controlled polymerization techniques.Experience in micelle or vesicle characterization.Strong communication, teamwork, and analytical skills.Proficiency in English at a high level.Preferred: experience with block copolymer micelles for drug delivery and blood‑brain barrier in‑vitro models.Contract & CompensationFull‑time 18‑month contract. Starting between 1 April and 16 June (year). Attractive salary.
