The revenue team performs the accounting related to the Company’s customer contracts. The Manager, Revenue Recognition will oversee the revenue accountants and review large customer contracts to ensure proper accounting in accordance with GAAP.Role OverviewThe Manager, Revenue Recognition will oversee a team of accountants located in the Madrid, Spain, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia offices. To ensure revenue is recorded in accordance with GAAP, this individual will interface with Sales and review key contract terms, as needed, and large contracts to assess revenue recognition.ResponsibilitiesOversee an international team of six revenue accountants to ensure timely and accurate recording of revenue and cost of goods sold entries.Lead the adoption of ASC 606 for SaaS revenue recognition practices, ensuring accurate revenue reporting in a subscription-based model.Review the monthly fluctuation analysis prepared by the team, explaining variances between budget and/or forecast and the actual monthly results.Review the monthly margin by customer file for review by executive management and explain variances between the expected and actual margins.Review new large customer contracts to ensure compliance with ASC 606 and proper revenue recognition.Review new reseller agreements to determine IPC's role (principal vs. agent) and document the analysis and conclusions.Ensure the accuracy and completeness of revenue footnotes in the audited financial statements.Contribute to the annual review and update of the Company’s ASC 606 policy.Assist with ensuring internal controls are in place, documented and updated periodically as appropriate.Participate in any updates to the RMCS revenue module within Oracle for the purpose of automating the revenue accounting process and ensuring compliance with the Company’s ASC 606 policy.Collaborate with the team to ensure audit requests are provided to external auditors for the annual consolidated audit and any statutory audits.Provide senior management with detailed financial analyses, customer margin insights, and variance explanations between budget/forecast and actual results.Mentor and guide the revenue accounting team to build careers and support their professional development.Drive change management as IPC transitions to a SaaS model, refining revenue recognition processes to align with the company’s growth trajectory.Assist with ad hoc projects and responsibilities as needed.How You Will Make an ImpactPlay a key role in ensuring revenue is recognized accurately and efficiently in line with both U.S. GAAP and our SaaS strategy.Help automate accounting processes, making a lasting impact on both the accuracy and efficiency of IPC’s financial reporting.Influence company-wide decision-making by providing detailed analyses of revenue recognition and margin data.Essential Skills and Experience to be Successful in this Role5-10 years of relevant experience from public accounting and/or multinational company, ideally in the fintech or SaaS sectors.Experience with revenue recognition in a SaaS environment, including:Managing subscription-based revenueLong-term contractsDeferred revenueStrong knowledge of ASC 606 and its application to SaaS or subscription-based revenue models.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred, but equivalent experience will also be considered.Excellent knowledge and understanding of US GAAP and internal controls.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and influence decision-making at the executive level.Desired Skills and ExperienceProven ability to lead change management initiatives in finance functions, particularly in a growing or transitioning company.Ability to perform independent research and prepare financial analyses, including the impact of accounting and regulatory pronouncements on the company’s financial statements and accounting and disclosure practices.Experience in control execution/documentation.Detail-oriented with demonstrated oral and written communication skills.Ability to work with senior management and influence decision making.Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to adapt to change.Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them through to completion.Ability to work with all levels of personnel, from staff to executive management.What’s in It for You?At IPC, your compensation is only part of the package.
