While most organizations add AI to conventional education frameworks as a superficial enhancement, 2 Hour Learning has taken an entirely different approach: we have reconstructed the school model from its foundation, leveraging AI and learning science to fundamentally eliminate the limitations of traditional classrooms. This is not a conventional product management position centered on customer feedback cycles or gradual feature rollouts. This is an executive-level technical product ownership role, where you will command the architecture, technical strategy, and AI integration across our complete learning system. You'll be accountable for navigating the critical technical tradeoffs that keep our products lean, scalable, and uncompromisingly focused on elevating student outcomes. You will reason like a CTO while executing like a product entrepreneur, synthesizing engineering rigor with learning science principles to consistently deliver breakthroughs. What You Will Be Doing Cultivating and demonstrating comprehensive education product expertise to inform strategic decisions Crafting technical specifications that resolve critical technical decisions while prioritizing simplicity, efficiency, and sustainable long-term architecture Deploying generative AI technologies to automate and optimize engineering workflows, consistent with the strategic objective of minimizing manual effort What You Won't Be Doing Pure people management; your technical and business judgment will be the defining elements of this role Spending your time in meetings, committees, and administrative overhead; we have automated management burdens so you can concentrate on delivering business value through direct contribution High-level strategies divorced from implementation detail; your recommendations must be grounded in product-level understanding Vice President Of Product Engineering Key Responsibilities Serve as the CTO for one or more education products, commanding core technical competencies and generating business value through flawless execution and strategic judgment Basic Requirements Deep experience or interest in data-driven learning science 7+ years of experience making the important architecture and design decisions on software projects, such as the application of architecture design patterns or significant open source technologies 2+ years of experience making design decisions involving the use of cloud computing services (primarily AWS) 4+ years of experience in positions with full technical and delivery ownership on a revenue-generating product Experience building product features that make advanced use of Generative AI Experience using Generative AI to simplify work processes About 2 Hour Learning Education is broken, but 2 Hour Learning is proving it doesn't have to be. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The
