What are we looking for? We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator with deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server . This is an exciting opportunity to work on enterprise-level database solutions across both on-premises and cloud environments , with a strong focus on performance tuning and high availability . Location: 100% Remote (Spain-based candidates only) Language: High level of English required Qualifications & Experience 7+ years in database engineering, administration, and performance tuning. Strong expertise in SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures). Proficiency in SSRS and SSIS. Advanced skills in query optimization and execution plan analysis. Experience with high-availability setups: Always On, clustering, replication , log shipping. Solid understanding of database security, auditing, and compliance. Knowledge of Python and/or PowerShell scripting Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Server and Azure Managed Instance. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage high-performance Oracle and SQL Server databases. Optimize queries, indexes, and stored procedures for performance and scalability. Administer Azure SQL Server and Azure Managed Instance, ensuring security and availability. Develop and maintain SSRS reports and SSIS ETL packages. Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, replication failures, and security vulnerabilities. Collaborate with development and operations teams on database optimization and structure. Manage backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies (Always On, clustering, etc.). Ensure compliance with database security best practices and industry standards. Lead database migrations, upgrades, and cloud adoption initiatives. Preferred Skills Experience with cloud-native database solutions and automation. Familiarity with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD for database deployments. Understanding of NoSQL databases and hybrid cloud environments.
