MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST (DEADLINE 7th January 2026)About Us:PCEA Kikuyu Hospital, a leading mission-based healthcare institution, is seeking a highly competent and motivated individual to fill the position of Medical Laboratory Technologist . The hospital is dedicated to providing quality, affordable healthcare and training services driven by Christian values and has four units namely, General, Eye, Orthopaedic & Rehabilitation, and Dental. In addition, the hospital has a School of Nursing, and a satellite clinic which is located at Matasia in Ngong. We are committed to ethical stewardship and financial accountability in fulfilling our mission.Position Title: Medical Laboratory TechnologistConduct the laboratory tests carefully and accurately in accordance with the set standard operating procedures.Ensure proper maintenance of all the laboratory equipment and report any problem experienced with a machine for assistance or for any repair required.This position calls for co-operation with other Laboratory staff and collaboration with other health care providers.Evaluate specimens received by laboratory and organize workflow to provide optimum efficiency of testing and turnaround times of results.Perform quality control, validation, and other quality activities to verify performance of assays.Evaluate inventory of supplies and reagents and communicate order needs.Maintain records of test results and archives of data.Maintain a safe, neat and clean work environment.Archive and track specimens.Perform proficiency testing to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.Train new laboratory staff and interns.Assist department in writing and maintaining standard operating procedures in the laboratory and document knowledge by reviewing and signing SOPs.Perform workstation monitoring tasks and fill their respective logs.Follow established quality management policies and good laboratory practice.Perform and document corrective action, including follow-up monitoring to gauge the effectiveness of the corrective action.Perform any other task related as assigned by the Supervisor.Academic Qualifications:Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution.Registration with Medical Laboratory Technologists and Technicians Board (KMLTTB).A valid practicing license from KMLTTB.At least 2 years post registration experience preferably in a healthcare setting.Training and certification in Quality Management Modules such as ISO 15189:2022 implementation, uncertainty of measurement and method validation will be an added advantage.Ability to maintain judgment under pressure.Team player.Initiative.Why Join Us:Opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause in healthcare.How to Apply:For more details and how to apply, please visit the Hospital website.Application deadline will be on 7th January 2026.
