Based in our global Barcelona hub, we have exciting opportunities for skilled and forward-thinking statisticians to work with the following therapy areas: Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism; Respiratory & Immunology; and Vaccines & Immune Therapies.What you’ll doThis team of statisticians is part of a multi-disciplinary group, including payer evidence and market access specialists, and health economic modelers. A focus of this role is to further bridge the relationship between statistics and modelling, and mentor colleagues in both fields to strengthen the Centre of Excellence. By applying your expertise in statistics, you play a key role in demonstrating the value of our products and shaping the payer environment by creating and delivering highly valued market access solutions to unlock the potential of our life-changing medicines for patients.Responsibilities and ProfileFor this role, we are looking for a statistician who matches the following profile:Experience from teaching or tutoring statistics or mathematics and ability to coach more junior staff members, with a passion for continuing to mentor junior colleaguesInvolved understanding of health economic models and experience of HTA and payer analyses in the reimbursement process, including an understanding of survival modelling, health utility data including mapping and value set applicationExperience from complex analysis of randomized clinical trials (and familiar with CDISC)Ability to author and review statistical analysis plans and write programs in R and/or SASSupport market access strategies by providing critical input to statistical approaches and address specific questions of interest for payersA drive to efficiently communicate complex statistical concepts to colleagues with different areas of expertiseAbility to lead and oversee the development and implementation of plans to analyze clinical trial data in collaboration with cross-functional teams and take responsibility for analysis design and results interpretationExperience of evaluating and comparing results from multiple studies, by applying indirect comparison methodology in accordance with existing HTA guidelines and requirementsOur statistical subject-matter expert in interactions with internal and external stakeholdersPublication experience and ability to present at internal and external forums to increase awareness of existing and novel statistical methodology, pushing the envelope to find new solutions to relevant hurdlesMSc or PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, or Mathematics (with a substantial statistical component)Why AstraZeneca?We are committed to making a difference.
