Join the Senior Ruby on Rails Developer role at Netenders. Netenders is an international e‑commerce group based in Barcelona, operating leading online stores in Europe and North America. We are developing our own cutting‑edge e‑commerce CMS to revolutionise the online shopping experience across our brands. About the Position This full‑time, on‑site position is located in our Barcelona office. You will play a key part in the architecture, optimisation, and development of our e‑commerce platforms. While you won’t lead the team, your technical expertise will guide and support developers on complex projects. Your Role Redesign, customise, and optimise our e‑commerce websites. Develop verticals for different product categories and business units. Improve and expand our internal e‑commerce CMS with a focus on: The purchase order process and supplier integrations. Handling and processing large data volumes efficiently. Building back‑office services for product management, pricing, and SEO data. Supporting QA by reviewing pull requests and sharing best practices. Collaborating closely with Product, IT, and marketing to deliver robust, scalable solutions. About You You’re passionate about building scalable, maintainable, and elegant code, enjoy mentoring others, and continuously improve the systems you contribute to. Requirements 5+ years of Ruby on Rails development. Strong expertise in recent Rails versions (5+) and experience with upgrades. Proficient in GIT version control and QA processes. Familiarity with Docker containers. Experience in e‑commerce implementations or complex backend systems. Knowledge of software architecture and design patterns. Experience in front‑end development. Experience in mobile development (Hotwire native). Nice‑to‑have: ElasticSearch, Memcached or Redis, Google Cloud Platform. Benefits 23 holiday days per calendar year.
