Our devices are embedded in the power grid to prevent blackouts, make outages safer, add cybersecurity, automation, and communication. At SEL, the Designer/Drafter in the Engineering Services Division supports engineering design for projects that help safe, reliable operation of power systems worldwide.Typical day dutiesCAD design and drafting tasks using either MicroStation or AutoCAD software suitesAnalyze technical specifications; create detailed physical and electrical designs, bill of materials, and job estimates.Prepare schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts for protection and control equipment.Review vendor drawings and integrate equipment into design packages.Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field teams to support project execution.Provide design support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.Maintain accurate documentation and ensure quality control throughout the design process.This job may be for you if:Have experience with CAD software (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation).Are experienced working with electrical control schematics and wiring diagrams.You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills (Spanish with intermediate English preferred).BenefitsCompetitive medical, dental, life, and AD&D insuranceRestaurant ticketsCompany provided private retirement planWellness benefits including gym membership reimbursementsDevelopmental programs including tuition assistance and engineering development programsLocationThis position is located in our Madrid, Spain office which is near the Ramon y Cajal train station and has great access to metro and bus transport.Employment typeFull-timeSeniority levelEntry levelJob functionDesign, Art/Creative, and Information TechnologyIndustriesUtilities and ManufacturingPeople are at the core of our company.
